Winter Engagement Session | Sheboygan Engagement Photographer
One of my favorite places to go for sessions is Kohler Andrae State Park. It has beautiful sand dunes, nature paths, and a sandy beach. This was my first time seeing the state park as a winter wonderland and it was magical, making it the perfect winter engagement session. This was a day after the snow blizzard and we got about 11 inches of snow. The day was full of sunshine making the snow glitter and gave a romantic feel!
Mary and Brian both love nature and the outdoors, hence why they choose to get married at the Schlitz Audubon Nature Preserve. I recommended that we select a place that has special meaning to them for their engagement session. With Kohler-Andrae State Park only a five minute drive away from where Brian grew up and right alongside Lake Michigan, it was the perfect location. The couples vision was a location that not only told their story, but would have a gorgeous winter backdrop. Mother earth decided to help pull off that vision with a stunning winter blanket along the beach and pine trees.
It was only about twenty degrees outside so a cozy outfit complete with snow boots to hike in was a must! And we didn't forget about the hand warmers and cold beer! Cuddles with their pup Auggie helped warm us all up as well!
Proposal Story
"One day near our 2 year anniversary date, Brian took me on a trip down memory lane. We traveled to places like where we had our first date, where we both first lived when we met, and our favorite coffee shop - all the way talking about how we felt during these monumental moments/places in our relationship. He then took me to the end of the jetty on Lake Michigan to create our new memory - the proposal!"
