Rose Garden Newborn Session | Green Bay Newborn Photographer
It's summer and it's a great time to do newborn sessions outdoors! Babies love the warmth of the sunshine and the nature sounds can be soothing for them. From open fields, beaches, botanical gardens and the nature preserves, there are many different locations to choose from! Taryn choose to do a rose garden newborn session at the Green Bay Botanical Gardens. This time of year is my favorite to photograph at the botanical gardens, since the greens are lush and the roses vibrant!
I always bring along a light colored blanket, some neutral wraps, and my Moses basket for baby. This gives us a variety of different images and poses. For girls I will also bring along a few selected bows.
My makeup artist Libby glammed up mama right before her shoot and I loved the natural look she gave her! Taryn selected a light blue floral dress from my client wardrobe as well as a soft beige dress from her own closet. We chose the floral dress for her first half of the session since it complemented the garden greens. We then choose to use the dress she brought along for the rose garden portion of the session, to not clash with the colorful roses.
I typically start with solo newborn portraits for my newborn sessions, but since this was an outdoor location and their son was included, I decided to start with family portraits while we had their son's attention. He did so well and was full of smiles! I did a few peek-a-boos behind the camera to gain his sweet smile as well as some candid family interactions.
