An Italian Inspired Editorial Shoot Filled with Ancient Rome Details and a Swan Lake Gown | Milwaukee Wedding Photographer
The inspiration for this editorial shoot was to create elegant details to pair with the venue's Italian beauty. Villa Terrace has wonderful little details from ancient Rome all around their venue that tied into the final design. The color palette consisted of soft summer tones to flow with each corner of the venue! Muted pinks, greens, blues, and yellows filled the entire Villa.
Villa Terrace Decorative Arts Museum is a beautiful gem hidden in the city of Milwaukee, Wisconsin! The Italian Renaissance villa is designed by David Adler and is filled with stunning Mediterranean details, giving every corner a stunning backdrop for a wedding! The Courtyard surrounded by a vaulted loggia with Tuscan columns and grilled Italian windows, as well as terra cotta pots imported from Italy. In the center of the courtyard is one of Villa Terrace's most know details and that is a statue of Mercury! Its torso dates to the second century A.D!!
The model's wedding gown reminds me of Swan Lake! It is a Dimitra's Bridal Couture designed by Tony Ward, a Lebanese-Italian fashion designer. His 2023 collection is inspired by music with attention to detail resembling a musical symphony. I can hear the song Tchaikovsky Pas De Deux play as the bride twirls in her dress!
Florals filled the entire Villa for this shoot! Vines were wrapped around the columns as well as the most stunning floral display I had ever seen for Mili Wonka Treats cake display! The tablescape included florals arranged in pottery that paired well with the Abram Poole Oil Paintings (“Athena, Goddess of Wisdom” and “Diana, Goddess of the Hunt”) displayed in the Great Hall. But the florals don't stop there! Briar Loft did a gorgeous design with florals along the ceremony aisle in the garden with the guest chairs parallel to the aisle!
Every detail that went into this editorial was absolutely stunning! My favorite design element was the reception hall with the kings table! The ceiling beams in the room are Georgia Pecky Cypress with white, blue and yellow stenciling pairing perfectly with the florals and BBJ La Tavola's linens.
To achieve a wedding design like this, you must pick a wedding venue that provides elements that will flow with your inspiration! Any venue you choose will have an impact on your final design as well as your photos! Choosing an amazing planner is also a great choice!
