I absolutely love art in all different mediums! I went to an art school during my summer break after my junior year of high school and that's where I fell in love with photography. With Wisconsin winters being cold, many people prefer indoor shoots. I was thinking of different locations other than the studio I shoot in and thought how fun it would be to do an engagement session in an art museum!
The engagement session colors were simple to match the museum's modern beauty and not distract from the artwork. The color palette consisted of blush, ivory, pink and navy.
In my search for the perfect art museum to capture this session I came across the Trout Museum of Art. The white walls and architecture with the columns paired well with my fine art photography. Their lobby has many windows and marble floors that provide lots of stunning natural light and a city view!
While I was just starting to plan the editorial shoot, I received an email from Morning Lavender with their new arrivals. I love looking through their catalog and always find beautiful pieces to add to my client wardrobe. One of their new dresses called the 'Rita Tiered Tulle Dress' caught my eye and I thought it would be the ideal dress for the shoot. The dress was my favorite element! It was the piece that put everything together and I think the model wore it perfectly!
I love Ebb and Flow's floral designs. I shared with Sunny that I was envisioning a modern, minimal design featuring a light color palette and dried florals. I can always trust Sunny to come up with the most stunning florals to complement my work.
If you have a vision, don't be afraid to do it! Even if your vision is for your wedding day and you need help putting it all together you can hire a planner. It is so amazing seeing your vision come to life!
